What are the top causes for delay in buying and selling your house?

Often, we think that the people that must look for a house on their own have it easier than those that must make decisions along with others, such as roommates or family. Regardless of your current state, moving houses can either be a fast and smooth process or there can be numerous delays, let us discuss the top causes behind delays.

·       You cannot decide on a selling price

It is common that if you believe your house is worth a certain price, but you are unable to sell it at that price it can cause delays, because you do not want to sell too low, but you also do not want to sell so high that no one would be willing to purchase your house. If there are no tangible reasons behind the price of a house, then chances are you will have to be realistic about the price and possibly consider your realtors advice.

·       You cannot decide on a house

There are either too many houses or not enough houses to choose from. If there are not enough options then you will inevitably feel as if though you would have to settle for a house just for the sake of moving, and you would not want that. If there are too many houses to choose from then that can also cause a delay but creating a vision board and possibly weighing out all the options, you do like in a long-term home would really help narrow down the options.

·       Not Kid-Friendly

Let us face it, many MODERNIZED homes are not always kid-friendly, too many sharp edges, very little safety for the house, noise from NEIGHBORS, a house that is so open space that you would not have control of where your child would be in the house. When searching for a house when you have children it is important to consider all aspects, safety comes first and a close second would-be comfort, you all must be happy living at the new house as moving with children is already hard as it is so you would not want to move houses too often.

·       You are attached to your house

We hold onto the memories when that is all we have left. For whatever reason you decide to move houses, if you have created beautiful memories it might take you some time to prepare to sell your house to someone who will create their own beautiful memories as well, the beauty is that you would be giving someone else the opportunity to experience what you experienced in that house. If your memories have not been that great in your current house then it can also be a process, but it might not contribute to the delay as much as positive memories, we tend to want to leave as soon as we can, but it does not mean that you should rush into selling your current home and purchasing a new one.
